A Charleston native, Russell Deal earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Furman University before serving in the U.S. Army. After leaving the military, he used the GI Bill to pursue his MBA at Charleston Southern University. It was during his MBA studies that an accounting course sparked an unexpected interest that ultimately became his career.
Today, Russell specializes in income tax preparation, planning, and advisory services. He particularly enjoys working with business owners who are actively involved in the day to day operations of their companies and values the opportunity to play a small part in their growth and success.
Russell believes the ultimate goal of owning a business is to create wealth for you and your family. He brings that perspective to his client relationships, helping business owners use proactive tax planning to make smarter decisions and keep more of what they have worked hard to build.
Outside of Veris, Russell serves on the boards of the Dorchester Two Educational Foundation and the Summerville Exchange Club. He has also been recognized by Forbes as a Best in State CPA.
Russell lives in Summerville with his wife and three children and genuinely loves being part of the community. In his free time, he enjoys hunting, fishing, shrimping, playing golf, and reading.
