Melissa Yutzy is a Partner at Veris CPA and a respected leader in outsourced accounting and the charter school community. She was instrumental in building Veris CPA’s Client Accounting Services practice and developing the firm’s specialization in charter schools, where she has spent years helping school leaders navigate their unique accounting, compliance, and financial challenges.
Melissa also served as Managing Partner of Veris CPA for five years, helping lead the firm through a period of significant growth and change. Her impact can still be seen throughout the firm in the teams and service lines she helped build and the processes she put in place to better serve clients.
At the heart of Melissa’s approach is a desire to help people make better financial decisions. She enjoys educating clients, explaining the “why” behind the numbers, and identifying issues before they become problems. She wants clients to feel like they have someone in their corner who understands their organization and is invested in helping them succeed.
Originally from Keyser, West Virginia, Melissa earned her bachelor’s degree in accounting and master’s degree in business from Frostburg State University.
Outside of work, Melissa coaches middle school volleyball and serves on the production team at her local church. She lives near the beach and loves being on the water. Melissa has two daughters and a son, and some of her favorite time is spent traveling with her kids and experiencing new places and cultures together. When they are home, you can usually find them enjoying the beach or pool.
